Ed Sheeran Made A Major Announcement About His Life and It’s a Good News

The musician shared the news on Instagram, with a picture of the happy couple bearing the caption: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”. Sheeran had only recently suggested he was ready to propose, telling The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia: “I’m pretty…yeah I feel pretty good about it.”

Fans immediately flooded the image with congratulations.

One wrote: “Awww congrats Ed so happy for you !!!!!”

And another confused follower wondered: “I don’t know if I’m sad or happy….”

The pair are believed to have first begun dating in 2015, though they both attended Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Sussex, together. They first became public as a couple in 2016, when friend Taylor Swift threw them a party to celebrate their one year anniversary.

When asked last year if his relationship with Cherry has the potential to be a “marriage thing”, the pop star said: “I’m pretty… Yeah I feel pretty good about it.”

Ed also confessed he’d “love” to start a family with his old school pal.

“I’m ready, let’s go – tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around,” he said.

Ed was forced to cancel some of his tour dates at the end of last year after a bike accident.

His single Shape of You was 2017’s biggest selling single, according to Official Charts data.

‘Perfect’, his song featuring Beyoncé, topped the Official Single Chart towards the end of December, meaning he managed to bag himself the coveted Christmas number one spot.

The 26-year-old faced competition from X Factor winners Rak-Su and singer Rita Ora, as well as Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’, which has shockingly never been Christmas number one, but said he was ‘very proud’ to be named the festive chart-topper.

He told officialcharts.com: “Thank you very much for making Perfect Christmas Number One. This is an actual dream come true and I’m very proud and happy. Thank you so much and have a very Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a Happy New Year.”

He is nominated at next month’s Brit awards for album of the year, British single, British video and British male.
