The Greatest Tinder Bio Goes To The Girl With One Arm

After a troubling event in life, most people’s first reaction is to dwell on their sadness at the hand that life has dealt them. And why not? Life can be pretty shitty sometimes, and it’s okay to feel down.

However at some point its best to prepare yourself to get over that hump, whether that means learning a valuable life lesson or simply developing a sense of perspective.

A lot of people find ways of doing it, even if that means having to be a bit self-deprecating from time-to-time.

Lauren, a 21-year-old who lost her arm in a moped accident, is a perfect example of this.

Thankfully she was saved by a policeman who came to the scene. She had to get on with life, though of course it was hard for her at first.

People made jokes, which a lot of the time she wasn’t okay with, but when she started making them herself she felt a lot better about it.

According to Lauren, a police officer found her and pretty much saved her life. “I remember I asked the cop, ‘Hey, am I gonna die?’ and he said, ‘No, you’ll be fine,'” she said.

Lauren says being open about her accident has helped others come to terms with similar things that have happened to them. “I have never really hid it,” she said. “People don’t see that very often, so a lot of people DM me to tell me it’s really helpful to them, people who are also missing limbs or are disabled.”

And last week, Lauren created a Tinder account. Just like the rest of us, she wanted an original and witty bio, but she really hit it out of the park with this one. She wanted to “address the elephant in the room,” and she gets straight to the point.

she recalled

I got home pretty drunk, and I don’t remember typing it up really . I just woke up to someone DM’ing me a Reddit post, asking if it was me. And I was like, ‘Damn, I guess it is.

Some people feel uncomfortable laughing at her jokes, but Lauren encouraged it.

she said

People always respond like, ‘Oh, I feel bad for laughing.

And I’m like, ‘No! I think it’s funny—I made it!

It seems like she wasn’t lying about her 20/10 personality. And although she’s certainly easy on the eyes, the fact that so many people are falling head over heels because of her bio proves it’s not always about looks.
