THIS is one cabbie that passengers don’t mind getting stuck in traffic with – she has been dubbed the world’s hottest UBER DRIVER.
Joyce Tadeo, 27, had been working as a medical rep in a pharmaceutical company but became tired of the rat race in Manila, Philippines.
The psychology graduate opted for a career change and began working as taxi driver eight months ago while studying dress making part-time.
Passengers were impressed by Joyce in the male-dominated industry and began sharing pictures of her driving which went viral.
She has now been dubbed the world’s hottest Uber driver and punters are desperate to hitch a ride with Miss Tadeo when they request a driver on the app.
Miss Tadeo, who works 12 hours a day, said: “Passengers normally have a man who picks them up. When I arrive they’re quite shocked.
“I love the attention and the feeling of being liked. I’m happy to have pictures with passengers and I’m genuinely flattered by the compliments.
“There are a lot of guys who want my number but I just smile and laugh it off. I haven’t tried dating any because there are strict rules about drivers and passengers.”
Miss Tadeo said her male friend recommended the job to her and she gave it a try after being “impressed by his earnings”.
She said that “light conversation” is a great way to pass time during her rides in bustling Manila where traffic is often busy.
Miss Tadeo works around the Bonifacio Global City district of Manila but often moves into neighbouring areas. Passengers are unable to book her – as the nature of the app means the nearest driver is often allocated.
She added: “Yes, passengers do hope that I’m the one who picks them up. But I choose whoever is nearest and on my route.
“There have been a few awkward moments. I collected a couple of from a motel and I couldn’t help wondering what they had been doing, I think they were up to no good.
“I have a lot of fun. And the conversation with passengers is always interesting. I can work when I want.”
