Are you worried about post Holi stains? Try these homemade remedies.

Holi is a festival of colours. You may buy natural and herbal colours, but other people around you may not be so conscious about the quality of colours they use, and play with and that can affect your skin by leaving colour stains on your body for a long time.

Here we present you some easily available things that you may use to remove your Holi stains and improve your skin health.

1. Lemon and Honey

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent which is useful in removing colour stains. Lemon contains citric acid which is a perfect component for lightening Holi colours and not harm your skin.  Mix lemon juice with equal amount of honey, and apply it all over your face and body. Leave it for 15 minutes and then apply plenty of moisturiser after that.

2.  lukewarm water

Washing your face and body with hot water will remove the colour stains. Water being one of good solvent takes away all the colour from your body. Hot water solidifies the colour and hence help in removing it from body. Rinse your hair and splash your face with normal tap water or lukewarm water.

3. Coconut oil

Applying coconut oil before and after playing with colours helps remove them easily. Massage your face and body with coconut oil, and then wipe it off with wet wipes. Then wash your face with a mild facewash, and your body with soap or bodywash. Most of the colours are component of hydrocarbon and hence get dissolved in oil and also coconut oil contain some oxidizing agent and help in improving skin quality.

4. Homemade Packs

There are always some magic ingredients in your kitchen. You can make a highly-effective pack with curd, besan or gram flour, turmeric, olive oil and lemon juice.  All of these lightens the visibility of the dark shades of Holi colours, and helps the skin to get back to its original complexion and glow quickly. Apply this pack on your body every alternate day post Holi, to get faster results.

  Special Hair Care

Sometimes you may be having trouble in removing colours from your hair. Take one tablespoon of lemon juice and mix it in a cup of curd. Apply this mixture on your scalp and rinse it. And if you are ok with egg smell then massage egg yolk onto your scalp for at least 30 minutes. You will be amazed with the result.
